Welcome To Michael Dods Racing

MJKD Racehorse Trainer Michael Dods trains at Denton Hall Stables situated in a quiet village just 4 miles outside of Darlington in peaceful County Durham countryside. It is ideally placed to reach all of the northern racecourses including Newcastle, York & Haydock Park and this helps reduce travelling costs.

Michael is assisted by his hard working wife Carole, Yard Manager Steve Alderson and an experienced and dedicated team. The yard has been sending out winners under Michael’s guidance for over 20 years and the 2011 season proved to be another successful year when getting off to the best possible start with Sweet Lightning, ridden by Johnny Murtagh and owned by Andrew Tinkler, winning the William Hill Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster.

Our aim is to accurately assess a horse’s ability to allow it to be campaigned as successfully as possible and maximise its earnings potential to allow racehorse owners to obtain the best return on their investment.
