Michael Dods trains at Denton Hall Stables, situated in the peaceful, picturesque village of Denton, just four miles outside of Darlington.

The 2021 campaign proved another successful year for Michael Dods Racing, with the stable finishing the year on the 56-winner mark for the season with another 100 entries placed.

Highlight of last season was Commanche Falls' thrilling victory in the Unibet Stewards' Cup at Glorious Goodwood, giving his owners a day they'll never forget.

And we're delighted with the way 2022 is going with the horses running well and 12 winners so far, including eight-year-old Dakota Gold bouncing back to form to become the joint winning-most horse at York.

We are hugely grateful to all our owners for their support during unprecedented times over the past couple of years and thanks also to the staff who have shown tremendous dedication to keep the stable moving forward despite all the challenges.

Michael was busy at the sales at the back end of last year and bought some lovely yearlings, so we are sure we have plenty to look forward to with both the older and younger horses.

Denton Hall is perfectly placed to reach all the northern racecourses and is close enough to the A1 to also venture further south.

Michael is assisted by his hard-working wife Carole, as well as highly experienced Yard Managers Steve Alderson and David Dickenson, and has a dedicated team behind him. We pride ourselves on being professional and friendly.

We train racehorses for individual owners, racing partnerships and we also have our own horse racing syndicate – Denton Hall Racing – for group ownership. In addition, we also have our own Dods Racing Club, giving members a value-for-money way of getting involved in the sport.

Pendleton, who has won races at Ascot and York, is an exciting addition to the club for 2022, alongside five-time winner Langholm, and Stallone, who has won three races in his career.

If you are interested in any of the forms of racehorse ownership please do contact the yard to discuss your requirements.

You’ll find regular updates on this site, including latest entries, winners, news updates – and even a blog by 19-year-old former racehorse Barney McGrew! Please also follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more bulletins.

Thanks for visiting; we hope you enjoy browsing our website, and we look forward to keeping you informed throughout 2022.
