Chloe to ride Roaring Ralph in Graham Lee charity race

Michael Dods Racing is delighted to announce that the yard will again be supporting a unique charity race at Thirsk for the second year running.

The Graham Lee Injured Jockeys Fund Stable Staff Stakes takes place at the North Yorkshire track on July 25.

The brainchild of ITV Racing presenter Adele Mulrennan, the event sees stable staff riding in the race while professional jockeys lead up the horses.

Last year, Phil Thomas rode the Michael Dods-trained Masterpainter in the race.

This year, it is the turn of Chloe Dods, who will be on board Roaring Ralph, a winner four times during his career.

Chloe, who had 24 rides under rules, said: "It's such a fantastic cause, so we wanted to support it again. I've also always had a soft spot for Roaring Ralph, so it'll be a great opportunity to ride him in a race."

The race, sponsored by Sky Bet, is run over approximately seven-and-a-half furlongs, from a flag start.

It raised £20,000 in its first year in 2024, and was won by John Greaves, from the John and Sean Quinn yard.

Let's hope Chloe has a great spin on Roaring Ralph and does the yard proud. To support her, please make a donation at: https://www.justgiving.com/page/chloe-dods-1
