Dods welcomes crowds returning to racing as a welcome step

TRAINER Michael Dods has welcomed the announcement that eight meetings are to be staged with crowds, starting with the St Leger Festival at Doncaster next month.

Details of numbers have not yet been confirmed for the Government pilot scheme but spectators will be back for the Leger meeting between September 9 and 12; Warwick on September 21; and the Cambridgeshire meeting at Newmarket between September 24-26.

Michael said: "Racing has made a great job of getting the sport back up to now. This is a welcome next step and, hopefully, we can build from here with safety continuing to be the top priority."
