Weekend preview

Fresh from a nice winner at Doncaster today with Jawwaal, we have four runners over the weekend, with two ridden by Paul Mulrennan at Redcar on Saturday, and two up at Hamilton on Sunday with Connor Beasley on board.
BLOWING WIND kicks us off at Redcar by making his debut over six furlongs in the Watch Racing TV Novice Auction Stakes. He’s a nice horse who we think will benefit from seven furlongs. He won’t want the ground too firm but he’s a nice type and the run will bring him on.
MAGISTERIUM goes next in the British Stallion Studs EBF Median Auction Maiden Fillies' Stakes. She dwelt on her first start over six furlongs at Doncaster earlier this month but ran on well to be second. She looks as though the step up to seven furlongs will suit and, hopefully, it does and she runs well.
MECCA’S HOT STEPS, main picture, leads the way at Hamilton on Sunday in the Racecourse Live Stream On Racing TV Extra Handicap. She ran well the other day at Beverley to be second of 12. It’s rained up there, so it’s gone soft, and she’s capable of winning when it’s her turn. There are some well handicapped horses in the race but she should give another good account of herself.
We then have a first-timer in HASKAYNE, running in the Mabs Cross colours, in the Join RacingTV Now Maiden Stakes over a mile and half a furlong. He’s a horse by Mayson who will benefit from as bit further in time but he should like the softer ground. He’s a nice, big backward type and the run will do him good.
